5G Effects on Birds And Insects
There is a new report which confirms that electromagnetic radiation from power lines and cell towers can disorientate birds and insects and destroy plant health.
In the new report, EKLIPSE, an EU funded review body looked over 97 studies about the effects of electromagnetic radiation on the environment. The conclusion was that this radiation indeed poses a potential risk to bird and insect orientation and plant health, says The Telegraph.
These studies date back for years, and all of them have come to the same conclusion. One of those studies conducted in 2010 has even suggested that some of the bird and insect species are declined because of this radiation.
The electromagnetic radiation also interrupted the orientation of insects, spiders, and mammals, and may even disrupt plant metabolism, says The Telegraph.
The UK charity Buglife urged that the plans to install 5G transmitters and base stations may have serious effects on the environment. They suggest avoiding installing these devices on street lamps in order to avoid any effects on the insects that come for the light near them. Also, the charity called for further research of these recent findings.
‘We apply limits to all types of pollution to protect the habitability of our environment, but as yet, even in Europe, the safe limits of electromagnetic radiation have not been determined, let alone applied, ‘ said Martin Shardlow, the CEO of Buglife.
And PC Mag reported that in 12 cities throughout the USA 5G will be installed till the end of the year.
